Free reading vs points reading
The free reading is not a trial. It does not expire, and it is not a cut-down teaser. It answers one question. A points reading answers the next several, because it uses more of your birth data.
Side by side
| Free | Points | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Nothing | Points, bought once |
| You enter | Birth date | Birth date, plus birth time for the hour pillar |
| You get | Your element, in plain English | Sections: personality, relationships, work, and the chart behind it |
| Reading time | About a minute | Longer. Generated for your chart. |
| Account | Not needed to start | Needed, because points live in the account |
| Later | Reread any time | Reread anything already opened, free |
How points work
| Price | $5.99 for 600 points, one purchase |
| Subscription | None. No renewals, no monthly charge. |
| Expiry | Points do not expire |
| When charged | Only when a reading is delivered |
| Failed readings | Never charged |
What each type of reading costs in points is on the pricing page.
Why points and not a subscription
Most people look themselves up once. Maybe twice. Then they come back when something changes, which might be two years later.
A subscription charges those people every month for something they are not using. Points charge once and sit there.
It also means the business does not depend on you forgetting to cancel.
What people actually do with it
Most read the free version once, in the year they first hear about Chinese astrology, and then forget about it until something happens. A birthday, a move, a job that stops fitting.
When they come back two years later, the points are still there. That is the whole design: 600 points bought in 2026 are still 600 points in 2030, and nothing has been quietly billing them in between while they were not looking.
Points is not "more accurate"
Worth saying plainly. A points reading is not truer than the free one. It is longer and more specific, because a birth year cannot describe how you handle pressure and a full birth date can at least talk about it.
Neither one predicts events. Both describe what the tradition says about your chart. The free one simply stops earlier.
The bit people ask about afterwards
The obvious worry with points is being stuck with a balance you never use. That is why nothing expires and why nothing is charged until a reading is actually delivered. If a generation fails, you keep the points.
The less obvious worry is the reverse: paying for something that turns out to be the same paragraph you already read for free. It will not be. The free reading stops at your element. The points reading keeps going through the sections that need the rest of the birth data, which a year alone cannot produce.
If that distinction does not sound worth $5.99 to you, the free reading is the right answer and it stays free.

Short answers
- Is this the same as my star sign?
- No. Your star sign comes from the month. Your zodiac animal comes from the lunar year. Same birthday, two systems, two answers.
- Do I need my birth time?
- Not for the year animal or the year element. The date is enough. A full reading uses the hour too, and skips it if you do not know it.
- Is any of this a prediction?
- No. These pages describe what the tradition says. They do not forecast events in your life.
