Water feeds Wood: you naturally give the other person energy and support. Make sure it flows back sometimes.
A fun, traditional lens — it does not decide any relationship. Years switch at Lunar New Year.
How animal compatibility works
The twelve animals sit on a wheel. Animals four places apart form a ‘triangle of allies’ who want similar things. Certain pairs are ‘secret friends’ who quietly complete each other. Animals directly opposite each other are the biggest contrast.

Compatibility FAQ
Which Chinese zodiac signs are most compatible?
Traditionally, the ‘triangles of allies’ are Rat–Dragon–Monkey, Ox–Snake–Rooster, Tiger–Horse–Dog and Rabbit–Goat–Pig. The ‘secret friend’ pairs are Rat–Ox, Tiger–Pig, Rabbit–Dog, Dragon–Rooster, Snake–Monkey and Horse–Goat.
Does a zodiac clash mean we can’t be together?
No. A clash (like Rat and Horse) only means your styles are very different — lots of spark and lots of friction. How you treat each other matters far more.
How does element compatibility work?
When one element feeds the other (like Water feeding Wood), one partner naturally supports the other. When one balances the other (like Metal and Wood), it brings structure and growth. The same element means you work alike.
